THE SENSHUU

The most important of all Seldran legends. The Senshuu, known to come every thousand years, is a time of great and drastic change. In the history of the world, this Senshuu has only happened twice (the world being only almost 3,000 years old), and each time something new was brought along and something old taken away. While what exactly happens and changes is not clearly remembered (as things afterward seem to continue "as they always had been"), today people realize that something happened from historical remnants, and people wished to know exactly -what- happened.
There is a general feeling among the people that the next one will be not-so-good...

Leonard the Great

His full name was Rafael Leonard III, but he earned his title by being the first Human to control all four Elements at the same time with the aid of all four Spirits, 600 years ago. Unlike most Humans who would desire that kind of power, he used his powers purely for good, and whenever dissension stirred, he straightened things out himself. It is told that he was a great and mighty man who destroyed all evil that reared its head. With fortune, he never combined the four Elements he held.
Leonard the Great had found all the Elemental Gems on his own - no help from a party. It was quite a feat for a single Human. However, even more of a feat is when he replaced them himself before his passing, not wanting them to fall into the wrong hands. He had hidden them well, making it a hard task for the next person to achieve. (Thanks a lot?)

The Mystic Unisus

More myth than legend, she derived from the era when unicorns and pegasi walked the world. No one quite remembers her significance. She disappeared from the world when all the other unicorns and pegasi seemed to also. All that is remembered of her is that she was supposed to be something truly spectacular, and whomever she appeared to was lucky.

Limerek

Not a myth commonly told in the lower parts of Seldra, Limerek is a freakish, incredibly huge insect who was long ago sealed away in Mt. Crystal, a mountain completely made out of solid ice. Very few believe this to be true, and, safe to say, no one wants to find out. It is known, however, that the ancient Chokara and Dragons often fought a huge bug on those mountains.

Chokara and Dragons

Before the time of Magi-Mani, there were many tall and towering beasts with Human-like minds. These were the Chokara, canine/reptile hybrids much different than the Chokara of today, and the Dragons, also very different than today's Dragons that live in seclusion. These two races are attributed to a lot of the beautiful sculptures and other such things found in nature by travelers today. They were known mostly to live in the mountains, where trails they made still remain, and they had a somewhat more regal culture. After the year 2000, they were found to control Elements by nature, and it is said this ultimately skewed their focus and made them weaker.

The Earth Kingdom, Sovei

Once a large yet barren desert city, the Earth Kingdom flourished into a lush, tropical domain around the time of the Second Senshuu. Tales say that it is a happy, prosperous, thriving paradise that attracted a variety of different peoples over the years.

The Living Volcano

Erinu Nevida ("Live Volcano" in the local tongue) is a place rumored to be the only thriving society formed beneath an active volcano. The lava there is said to be harvested and crafted into new landforms and living structures by very powerful Magi. Legend says all the people there are just as fiery and strong as the island on which they live.

Atlas

The legendary underwater city constructed by the fish people many centuries ago. Built by the most intelligent beings on the planet, it contains an advanced society with intricate buildings impervious to the aging of history. No land-dweller has ever been able to explore it or even get remotely near it, so its existance is still in question.
